Default 2004.12.17 Basel, Switzerland @ St. Jakobshalle

Special one screen show tonight. Being in Switzerland, I busted out the Lederhosen in the middle of the show; a little surprise for the boys. They pulled me up onstage right before 3 MC's and 1 DJ to pose with them at the begining. I wasn't sure what to do after that and Yauch grabed me and made me jump a round. Then I brought the camera up onstage and filmed the Boys from the stage. First time for everything. I'll try to get a pic up of that. That was my highlight of the show, but hopefully fun was had by all.

Hmmm...

They Boy really played an excellent Show, but
i think the boys were in very bad mood (because
of the baaad swiss crowd) ? anyway, i was kinda
pissed off 'cause the crowd... they were lame, and
that's the reason why the boys were lame...

i wish i could go back and see that gig again...

i couldn't really have EXTREME FUN, because the boys
didn't have that much fun i think.

anyway... when SUPER DISCO BREAKIN' kicked ass... the whole show did...

Damn, it was simply a perfect show. I don't know if the Beastie Boys had fun or not, hope so, we tried to give them everything we could (I was on the first row... I could even touch you, James)...

I've got one question, who were the two components of the band? Especially, what I'd like to know, is if the crazy guy playing keyboards was Mark Nishita.

Can anybody answer me?

Come back soon, we'll prepare some new chocolate turntables, a few chocolate microphones and for you, James, a chocolate camera...

hi

i'm one of the sabotage-like-dressed. i don't think they were in a baad mood due to the crowd. i met them 2 hours bevore the concert start and mike d was soooo flashed. i dont know what kind of drugs he took or if he was just tired but i think it's the reason because he made that much mistakes.(remember pass the mic faults ) so the concert couldn't compare with munich or milano wher'e if've been too.
anyway they are great, wierd, crazy guys and they kick ass in their 40's

@ Freakazoid03

Where did you meet the guys? I was trying to get a signature, but without success

Was there an after-show-party somewhere or went they back to the hotel?

Great show, but for me tooo many people in Basel. Was much more familiar in Zurich back on "Hello Nasty" tour....

The show was just awesome... and I also think that the boys weren't in bad mood... MCA was smiling all the time, compared to some live-video material I've seen thats not that usual, I guess.
Anyway, as I allready said the concert was great, I so damn liked it (Okay, all that bouncing was a little bit annoying, in my opinion. I could have enoy the show more without it). And when they put out that chocolate turntable... I was getting hungry.
A friend of mine made some pictures herself... I could upload them, but they are not that good... Little bit blurred and stuff.

@ James B: You were also the guy who was filming some people before the concert started, right? (Yai, I was on the Screen. )

Awsome concert ! The BB are really incredible on stage...

I think it could have been the best concert I ever saw (with Smashing Pumpkins and REM) IF my girlfriend hadn't fainted 10min before the BB entered the stage...

Damn, that sucked really hard, she just fainted (we have been to many concerts and this never happened before, must be bcs the BB made her crazy, or maybe bcs she was really tired already before the concert, lol), fortunatelly we were directly next to the stage, so security helped my take her (unconscious) above the barrier, then some medics helped me: she woke up after 30 sec and everything was fine...

But seeing her like that really made me nervous and I couldn't appreciate the concert like I should have, and of course, it would have been much better if I could have stayed in the crowd just in front of the stage (where we were before my GF fainted) !!!

Maybe you saw us, I was a guy with a green and yellow Adidas jacket (the1 the BB used to wear on live performances) and my girlfriend has very long blond hair...

Just wanted to add something more about the BB: they are crazy ! I don't know what drugs they take, but they DO take something, they weren't clean during that concert, it was obvious !!!

Now I REALLY hope the BB will comeback sometimes in Switzerland bcs I want to see them again (hopefully without my GF faiting) !!!
Maybe next tour could be called (if next album is in 5 years): "crazy stoned grandpas rockin the stage" or something like that (and the crowd should come dressed like grandpas/mas

And what happened with Ch-Check it out. MMM started it then the turntables went dead/music stopped for a verse or something. The boys went acapella for a verse and a half and MMM jumped right back in perfectly. That was strange.
