I love this line...

One last minefield you need to navigate is what happens when an indie band jumps to a major label. No matter how cool a band is, this is bound to happen. Sometimes it doesn't mean much, and other times it is the end of the band. Again, Sonic Youth were cool even on DGC, but the Goo Goo Dolls, who did about the coolest Prince cover ever ("I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man"), became something else when they went to a major label. Showing anything but disdain for that bunch of milksops will get you cast out east of indie Eden.

Wow, I had no clue that the Goo Goo Dolls were even considered "cool," even if it was only for a brief period of time. I ALWAYS thought they were lameasses.

Hahahaha, they're my roommate's favorite band. She even dragged me along to see them open for Bon Jovi. Yeah, I could do without having to listen to them so much, although luckily it's been awhile since they've released an album. That's the only time that they get seriously overplayed here.

Why would anyone want to act like a fan of shitty new bands who are so lame that even large labels reject them?

Damn new music loving cliques; these trash-swallowers need to part with their pseudo-hip ways, burn all material related with their moronic new music and should go onto listening to Roxy Music and Ratt.
