I can't be arsed to read this whole thread, but I think it's obvious that poor spelling means lack of intelligence. Look at the two biggest offenders: Qdrop and Echewta. Need I say more?

I've seen some words spelled in a way that couldn't be a typo; the letters used may as well be on another keyboard.

In Cheyenne, the apostrophe stands for a full stop which is one of the 14 letters of the alphabet.

This Kurdish restaurant that I got to all the time has a menu that makes many ingredients into possessives. Dishes feature onion's, tomato's, potato's, etc.

As I believe I once said to you before, somebody who takes pains to follow the basic nuances of spelling and grammar is obviously somebody who cares about the quality of his message. Conversely, somebody who doesn't bother to articulate his ideas properly is very likely someone with little regard for his audience, or simply too careless with his mode of expression to be worthy of much notice.

Now, there are of course exceptions to this principle - yourself being one. But I cannot profess to understand them. You don't think like gmsisko, so why do want your messages to come across like his? Why not take a little extra time to conform to a certain standard of textual professionalism? It won't do you any harm.
