It sounds like it's confined to his Parotid Gland and some lymph nodes in that area. He said surgery will probably be in the next couple of weeks. It will not affect his voice.

as corny as it sounds, there are only maybe 5 'celebrities' (i hate that word, what else do you call it?) i unabashedly care about, and obviously bboys are three of them. mostly for irrational reasons, growing up with them and all that.

so it feels like a brother is sick. and its sad. sorta lump in the throat sad. when you feel this way about certain people, you kind of assign some sort of immortality kind of thing on them, and things like this make you realize that no one is immune, life happens to all of us.

hope everything will be ok and that life will go on. prayer seems like a dirty word these days.. regardless a.y. is in my prayers. hang in there, homie.. there's a lot left to be done!

I'm sure, like most of us, for as psyched as we are to hear the new album, we all want whats' best for Yauch. Life has a funny way of slowing us down, we live in a push push world. For as great as the new album will be, it's just that, a new album. I'm as big a Beastie fan as there is, but when you hear news like this it puts things into perspective. It does feel like a brother getting sick and we feel for you Yauch.

My wife is an RN and she works on the Oncology unit and she did say that what he has is very highly treatable.

Yauch, I wish you all the best in your surgery and post treatment. The tour and album can wait as long as they need too. Be well.

Hope you come through this with minimal pain. My younger brother has survived testicular cancer in his 20s and kidney cancer in his 30s and he's still strong as an ox. He works at Duke Medical, so if you need an inside track, holla atcher boy.

Been a fan since I saw the Beasties open for RUN-DMC in 1985 at Greensboro Coliseum (NC). Nothing beats the boys.
